Aberdeen 1 - 0 Moscow Dynamo
Kick Off:  7:30 PM   Davidson 17.
Attendance: 12,000
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
The Dons took this match very seriously as the extended their experience of playing against European opposition. Dynamo had been enjoying a successful tour of the UK with victories over Chelsea, Linfield and Bristol City behind them. They found themselves up against it at Pittodrie, though, as Aberdeen immediately put their stuffy defence under pressure.
Willie Miller set the standard with an immaculate display and top-class perception of the play.
Duncan Davidson scored the only goal of the game when Joe Harper set him up to knock the ball home from six yards.
The Russians were playing well but failed to find a way past the Dons' defence and Bobby Clark, then John Gardiner - who came on at half-time - fielded anything that was thrown at them.
Davidson might have scored again when Rougvie headed on a corner, but he paused a moment too long and the Dynamo keeper dived in to grasp the ball.
